Week 39

*Sigh* No change.

I thought I'd been pretty good with my eating this week, but I guess with the continued vile weather we've been having, my activity levels have been pretty low. For a brief moment the scales flickered on 14st 9lbs, but then went back up to 14st 10lbs. Maybe I have lost 1/4 lb or something, but my scales don't do fractions.

Statistical summary:

Starting Weight: 19st 9lb – 275lbs
Current Weight: 14st 10lb – 206lbs
Total Weight Loss: 69lbs
Weight Lost since joining the Knights of the Round Bottoms: 4lbs

Next week you will no doubt lose 2 pounds, or even more. A sort of week on week off type of thing. Either way, no gain is good.

Eh, numbers shmumbers. I don't even own a scale, so I only get weighed once a year at the OB/GYN... Even though I've been steadily dropping in clothing sizes, feeling good, firming up, and getting compliments...I still weigh EXACTLY what I weighed last year at this time! Two jeans sizes smaller than last November, and I still weigh 153 pounds...so there you go.

You're perfectly right, Andraste, weight isn't everything. Despite the title of the blog, my main concern has been eating more healthily, and the weight loss has been a by-product of that.

However, unlike fat-to-muscle-ratio, blood pressure and bone density, the weight is something I can keep a track of, even if it is only a rough guide to my health.

True. It's interesting how you can lose weight, enough that people notice and comment, but when you look in the mirror, your mind plays the old trick on you...making you think you look exactly the same as before. I can completely understand how eating disorders develop...

It is very difficult to keep an objective eye, when your brain plays tricks like that. So I guess the "concreteness" of the numbers can keep that in check.
