Week 47

3lb Loss!?

I know last week that I thought I'd be just looking at stabilising this week, but to be honest, when I stood on the scales this morning I was fully expecting to have gained another pound or two. I had to re-check several times before I was prepared to believe that I'd actually lost 3 pounds.

With my stepdaughter staying with us (see main blog) and all the stresses that have accompanied the fact that she was beaten up by her partner, my eating has not been good. Most evenings I've ended up snacking, which is a major no-no, so I find it almost impossible to believe I can have lost weight.

Only 2 possible explanations I can think of, other than the scales are broken, and that is either my metabolism has actually speeded up as my body has gotten used to a higher level of eating over the past few weeks (seems unlikely), or the stress is working off more calories than I'm compensating for with the extra food.

I don't know, sometimes weight loss feels more like a lottery and this week I just happened to get lucky.

Statistical summary:

Starting Weight: 19st 9lb – 275lbs
Current Weight: 14st 7lb – 203lbs
Total Weight Loss: 72lbs
Weight Lost since joining the Knights of the Round Bottoms: 7lbs

Try to remember this week when you eat lettuce all week and gain half a pound. I think we underestimate how much we are piggin out over the holidays. I dropped 3 lbs this week on a pretty tame dieting week. I think my body was in chocolate withdrawl.

Fatmammycat - in case I've not mentioned it before, I really appreciate you posting encouragement each week. If you got your blog together, I'd happily return the favour.

Sir Chubalot - thanks for letting me know. It's interesting, and a bit of a relief to be honest, to realise that I'm not the only one.

Oh Kim, I don't want a blog. A blog would requre me to post something on a daily basis, now I realise I am a daily comment hussy on some favourite blogs, but that's fine, there is no 'have to'involved, if you see. I've said it before, 'Down with have to!'

It only becomes a 'have to' if you make it so.

You only have to put up somthing as and when you feel like it, unless you are specifically trying to build up traffic, in which case more frequent postings will help.
