Week 112

1.6lb loss!

Woohoo! Back over the 100lb mark!

Which is all a bit confusing to be honest. This week I had a major blow out on Friday when eating lunch out with Dr Maroon, then having a family meal out in the evening. Stuffed to the point of bursting. I've been more or less on track the rest of the week, but as last week showed, that doesn't always mean anything.

Whatever strategies I've managed to develop over the past 2 years to lose the weight I have, I still fall apart the minute I eat out. First of all the portion sizes are so much larger, then there are deserts available, but mostly it's the idea that I'm paying for it so I'm buggered if I'm going to waste a single crumb.

Fortunately I don't eat out that often these days.

Starting Weight: 19st 9lb - 275lbs
Current Weight: 12st 6.8lb - 174.8lbs
Body fat: 23.2%
Total Weight Loss: 100.2lbs

Impressive. Am trying something similar myself at the moment, but with smaller goals. Easter break has been difficult for exactly the same reasons...

Well done though, I'm very impressed at your persistence.

My mother, who was diagnosed with diabetes recently, has developed her own strategy for eating out - and it seems to work well. When she orders her food, she also orders a to-go box to arrive at the same time. Then she immediately puts half the food in the box and puts it under the table. She eats half as much without being tempted to eat the whole thing, and has a lovely meal to heat up for lunch the next day.

She's lost 30 lbs since being diagnosed. I think she is amazing. Like I think you are amazing.

Keep up the good work, Kim!

Way to go Sayre's mother - smart thinking!

That's what happened to me. 1.2 pounds gain one week follow by a 1.6 pound loss this past week.

I think sometimes eating off-plan jolts your body enough to drop some weight. :)

Wow you have been busy whilst I was away. To dip into that amazing 100 pound weight loss bracket is truely remarkable. An inspiration to obess people out there I am sure. Your example has certainly helped me on my own quest to beat the buldge. So how far until we call you a Lord???

Back on track Kim, well done.

Victoria - I have wondered about that - it's like sometimes a bit of overeating kickstarts the metabolism again. However, it's a dangerous experiment!

Weight Trimmer - I figure that if I get below 12 stone I might just call myself Lord, although strictly speaking, I should maybe do that when I get to 11stone 9lbs as that will be the British Hundredweight I set out to achieve.

FMC - thank you :)

Me again - left a message earlier on your other page. Wow - you must have great determination to get you through - well done on all that you have achieved. It's worrying how many of us seem to be battling with our weights. I went from around 100lbs (that's right - you've lost the eqivalent of my actual weight around 7 years ago) to now being around ....... oh my an awful lot more. I put my weight gain down to a serious illess back in 2000 combined with a massive reaction to antibiotics - knocked my system to pot. For some strange reason my eating habits also changed. Now each day is a struggle. I'm now going to go back over all your posts on this for some inspiration.

Those photos of you when you were a lot heavier certainly show what a tremendous change you have wrought.

Way to go Kim! Even though eating out is problematic for you, your ability to get back on track for the rest of the week seems to be a winning strategy. I read your last post, checking out your chocolate cake post, and am highly thankful that you didn't include a recipe or a photograph. ;)
