Week 132

1.2lb gain

To be honest, I'm surprised it isn't worse given the number of wee extras I've had this past week. It has been so bloody hard.

The fight for me over weight loss is a fight with depression. When I'm low it is much harder to resist the cravings. When I'm up it's much easier to stay on track.

As mentioned in the post on my main site "Light at the end of the tunnel or just spots before my eyes?" I'm just starting a low dosage of anti-depressants to see me through to an appointment that's finally been made to see a specialist, 3 months from now.

My hope is that if the ADs work and I get less of the low mood swings I should find it easier to bat away the cravings.

Starting Weight: 19st 9lb - 275lbs
Current Weight: 12st 7.8lb - 175.8lbs
Body fat: 23.4%
Total Weight Loss: 99.2lbs

Hi kim, have you ever had any form of therapy for your depression?

You may find that once the ADs kick in, you'll find it much easier to resist those wee temptations. I certainly hope so.

I'm having to start anew myself. My knees are causing all kinds of trouble, but the doctor has ideas. Alas, no KenPo classes for me for about 3 months though.

1.2 isn't bad. I can gain 3 plus pounds when my body decides to hold water.

Hang tough Kim.

anonymous - depression is something that I've had to dealwith on and off for much of my adult life. I've done ADs before and group therapy. Which is why I know that this time the depression is folliwing the illness and not the other way round

Sayre - sorry to hear about the knees

S. William - I was expecting it to be worse, so I'm not complaining

Kim,i find myself in a very similair position to yourself, unfortunately when you have had a on/off struggle with depression it is often difficult to identify what comes first.I hope your specalist appt gets to bottom of it for you..I wish you a speedy recovery.

Thank you, anonymous.

Can I ask that if you comment in the future that you use a name (it's up to you whether it's your real one, just so long as you're consitent) so I can identify you from other anonymous commenters?

Thanks :)
