Week 146

2.6lb gain

Crap.

It has been such a tough week. In fact the past fortnight has been intense, leading me to feel even more tired and emotionally vulnerable.

Since last Monday I can easily look at the large slice of cake at the last philosophy class of the term I taught, plus one night where 4 small squares of chocolate turned into a 150g bar, and a litre tub of chocolate ice cream disappeared over 2 nights.

Combined with the less activity I'm capable of these days, it's unsurprising there should be such a jump.

Unfortunately this now puts me at the heaviest I've been since April.

Crap.


Starting Weight: 19st 9lb - 275lbs
Current Weight: 12st 9.4lb - 177.4lbs
Body fat: 23.5%
Total Weight Loss: 97.6lbs

I know you are NORTH... Do you find that you eat much more in the winter when everything else slows down? It's hard, especially now that we're in the eating season. That's why I think I might do my LoMoWeMo in January and just watch what's going on with my choices this month. I am facing another doctor appointment in February and I want to be getting down there by then.

Would you care to join me? In January, I mean? I want to approach exercise the same way I did the writing - squeezing in little bits whenever I can. I'm still working out how that would work, but it's an interesting experiment idea.

I'm afraid with the fatigue thing I can't go down the exercise route at the moment - it could make me worse. However, I wish you all the best with it and think it's a great idea.

The weight fluctuations sounds frustrating. Still you have accomplished quite a bit and unfortunately you have some unique issues to deal with. I know it's cliche but all you can do is your best.

The problem is, Half Man, knowing what my best is. When I give in to the sweet stuff, I don't feel I've done my best - but sometimes when I don't it all gets too much to cope with.

Be careful that you don't get into that all or nothing thinking. I guess the suggestion to do your best is a subjective suggestion using a superlative. What I meant was that considering some of your issues, you have a more difficult task of maintaining your weight than most. You have to work within those parameters and don't beat yourself up over the "slip-ups."
