Week 163

2lb gain

Well clearly last weekend's indulgence has finally metabolised and caught up with me - I knew that 1lb loss was unlikely to stay there.

And of course there has still been the odd Easter treat lying around the house needing to be cleared up.

At least I know where it's coming from.

Week 162

1lb loss

Quite frankly I'm stunned by this loss, and don't actually believe it.

I'll accept the idea that the vast amounts of chocolate consumed yesterday haven't yet had time to metabolise, but I've definitely overeaten this past week. My only conclusion is I must be dehydrated and it will all show up next week

Week 161

0.2lb loss

Ah well, at least it's not a gain.

I would have thought that with the depression under control with the anti-depressants, that staying on track would have been a great deal easier. But it appears I was wrong.

As I've stated many times before the reasons for overeating are many and complex, and when we attribute them to a single cause we are blinding ourselves to all the others.

Because the depression has been the dominant theme for so long I'd almost forgotten all the other reasons at work.

Guess I have to start working on them again...

Week 159

0.8lb gain.

Maggie and I have had long discussions about her ability to bake mouthwateringly scrumptious scones, cakes and biscuits before now, and how they don't help keep the weight off.

However, what are you to do when she teaches the children how to bake and not only can you not refuse because, well, they're your children, but they have also inherited her incredible talents, so you cannot stop at one?

Sigh...
