Week 43

3lb Gain!

I ate out at an awards dinner on Thursday, had cheese fondue at the friend's house I was staying in on Friday, attended a medieval banquet on Saturday, took my brother, sister and kids out to an Indian restaurant on Sunday, had a "Full English" fried breakfast at the B&B on Monday, and snacked most of the drive back home on Tuesday.

All things considered I think I've got off lightly with only a 3 pound gain.

How good it was to have a bowl of Maggie's home made thick vegetable soup for dinner when I got home last night. I never would have believed that I would get to a stage where I could be desperately yearning for fruit and vegetables.

Other than a Christmas lunch with a few business colleagues next Monday, I should be able to spend the next week eating a lot healthier.

Statistical summary:

Starting Weight: 19st 9lb – 275lbs
Current Weight: 14st 7lb – 203lbs
Total Weight Loss: 72lbs
Weight Lost since joining the Knights of the Round Bottoms: 7lbs

Like you said last week Kim, you figured it was that sort of a weekend and I hope you enjoyed every minute of it! I'm going to the gym now, full of determination, the iPod is loaded with fast tracks and I am convinced that 60 mins is mine. If it isn't I fully intend to boot something.

Go for it fatmammycat! Let me know if you get that 30Kph average.

Nope. 62 mins 4 seconds. And I didn't bother kicking the bike either. 2 mins 4 is 1 kilometre, and it's the sodding kilometre I lose in the first 30 mins. But I finished belting along to Metallica's St. Anger, it is a wonder I didn't just rip the bike clean off it's moorings. Next time.
Hum, sssptin is the WV...sounds almost like something I said when I finished.

I don't think I'd have had the energy to kick the bike after a sprint like that. However, you're getting closer!

Funny thing about the bike Kim, you can actually see improvements on a week to week basis. I don't feel particularly tired after an hour any longer and I'm sure I could easily do 40 K without any trouble, but that's not the amount of time I want to spend in the gym. I like one hour cardio, maybe twenty minutes stretching and then hit the showers. If I start farting around with distance I'd be there all day.

So do you do this weekly or daily?

I cycle 30 K three times a week a steady 25, on other days. But not always racing against the clock. Like Monday I cycled 30 but in 67 minutes, no real gallop. I might only race once a week. I don't mind what I do as long as I'm hitting the 150K a week mark.
