1lb loss!
That's 3 weeks I've been on track now, and I've lost weight each time. And considering the CFS means my activity levels are very low indeed, this is no mean feat.
I've just checked back through the posts and I'm astonished to discover the last time I lost weight 3 weeks in a row was in fact Jan/Feb last year.
Next week I won't be posting as we're away for a few days, and then on the Sunday after we come back it's my birthday, so I can't imagine I'll be posting a loss in a fortnight's time. However I'm not planning on any extended blow-outs.
Starting Weight: 19st 9lb - 275lbs
Current Weight: 13st 12.4lb - 194.4lbs
Body fat: 27.9%
Total Weight Loss: 80.6lbs
Still here.. really I am - 4 years an 9 month later

This site is purely a place to stick up my stats on a weekly basis and see what purie excuses I try and use when I've gained instead of lost.
I actually hit my target and lost more than 100lbs a couple of years ago. Since then I've regained over 20.
The main philosophy of my approach - along with observations about the whole process can be found in links I've set up on the sidebar. The majority of the rest of the posts are just of the "1.2lb gain - bleargh" and not particularly interesting.
Feel free to comment or recommend, or just observe at a distance - or ignore completely for that matter :)
It's the fact that you have done so well and been at the weight loss for a long time and not given up that I find inspiring. We all need some inspiration in our lives and anyone who has been successful at anything is helpful for others who struggle whether it is with walking, adding up or anything.
And I love the way you write too!
And almost forgot to say that I love the fact that you did not go on a specific diet, esp the soup, shakes and vitamins ideas.
I once met someone who had lost 3 stone by simply not eating on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Hey, it's a simple way to cut your calories by a third!
There are multiple problems with just skipping food, not least how your body then reacts to it and starts storing fat the moment you do eat.
But more than anything, diets don't address WHY we were overeating in the first place.
As Willowishesless (see sidebar) and I were discussing last week, you don't ever get to a point where you say "Right, I'm healthy so now I can stop" and yet that's what people do all the time with their weight. This is why 95-98% of all diets fail.
I believe I've found the weight you lost. My gain must be related to your loss as the only other possible explanation is the near constant diet of fried food I've been eating for 4 days now.
Don - it would cost too much to mail over from the states, so you just keep it :)

I am still giggling over the comment about the guy who wouldn't eat on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For some reason this reminds me of a children's story! There's a limerick in there somewhere. onemockingbirdhill - it's such a bizarre approach, isn't it? I know I would end up eating 3 times the amount on Wednesdays and Fridays, which would rather outweigh the benefits :)
