1.4lbs gain.
I am not surprised. What with Father's Day last Sunday, Rogan's birthday on Monday, left over cake on Tuesday, and I think a scone or two may well have worked its way into the mix this week as well, I'm now back over the 13 stone mark.
My only hope is it's just over a month until Maggie's birthday and I don't think there are any other celebrations meantime

Best wishes getting it back off again, Kim. These small blips do happen when there are lots of family celebrations and you are trying to eat "normally" and not act like a constant diet freak all the time.
I've been reading your archives and found quite a lot of parallels with similar posts I have written.
I'll be back to read more of your archives later.
Best wishes,
Sharon
My motto is: "When there is cake, you must partake" :D
I'm sure you'll get it back down again.
Sharon - after more than 3 years at this I recognise there's a definite correlation between whether I eat healthily or not and whether the weight goes on or not.
But's a lifetime thing, not a temporary diet, so I'll be back on track soon enough. In fact I already am, although it won't show until next week.
FLG - there's also "when food's in the room, you must consume" but I've been trying to rid myself of that one for years... ;)
Well you're still 3 pounds below your April 24th weight and you managed to recover from that. And I see from your reply to Sharon that you are now back on track. So hopefully, all is good. Hopefully you can allow yourself a bit of a gain without it edging back bit by bit. I'm still in the get-rid-of-it mode. I've been a Goal before, but never did maintenance very well. I'm looking to you to see how it's done.
Arlene - I don't really make the distinction between goal and maintenance. It's about making healthy choices and trying to make sure the unhealthy ones don't spiral out of control. It's a lifetime thing.
Hi Kim,
Thanks for your long comment on one of my blogs yesterday. I understand what you are saying but it's difficult for me as I was brought up from childhood with a very negative self image -- both my parents merely reinforced the negative image that school children and everyone else seemed to want to foist on me -- being you are ugly and unattractive.
I know that in order to think more positively about myself and my body for the long term I have to start changing some of my thinking, but it is difficult to over-write 40 years of negative conditioning.
Thanks for your thoughts,
Sharon
Sharon - there's no doubt it's not easy, but at least it beomes possible if we find the right place to start :)
I must tread carefully around birthdays and other celebrations. I'm not such a big sweets person, but somehow just having those things around make me gain weight! Because of course, you must partake....
I have managed to lose 4 lbs after gall bladder surgery, but honestly, there's got to be an easier way! ;)
